What are polarized lenses?

●These lenses cut out irregular reflections of light (e.g., glare from roads or water surfaces) to ensure clear vision.

●They can be used for a wide range of purposes, including daily use to protect eyes from harmful light such as UV rays. (Marine sports, winter sports, fishing, running, driving, etc.)

●They enhance contrast without distorting the color tone of the view, cutting out irregular reflections from roads, water surfaces, and snowy fields for a cool view.

Optical performance is closest to glass, offering clear vision / Characterized by less material distortion compared to inexpensive polarized lenses.

■Lens Coating

・Hard Coating (front surface)
Scratch prevention, making the lenses more scratch-resistant than ordinary lenses. Adhering resin to the surface increases hardness and makes them less prone to scratches.

Environmentally Friendly Sunglasses Made from PET Bottles

The frame is made from approximately two 500ml PET bottles, and weighs only 34 grams including the lenses.

The nose and temples are designed to fit Japanese facial structures, preventing slipping, and providing a light, comfortable fit that makes you forget you're wearing them.

The frame is flexible, and you'll experience a gentle, wraparound fit that encompasses your entire head.

Furthermore, from the 2025SS season, metal hinges will be adopted.
By using a material (cupronickel) that is resistant to rust from sweat and seawater, there is no need to worry about rust or deterioration from sweat and seawater, similar to conventional integrated hinges, and durability is improved.
Additionally, in consideration of recycling, it is designed to be removable from the main body with a single screw.

How PLAGLA is Made

Produced through numerous processes at a factory in Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture, famous as the "City of Glasses" and boasting 90% of Japan's eyeglass production.
