Sustainable eyewear, MADE IN JAPAN

About PLAGLA

PLAGLA frames are made from approximately two discarded plastic bottles.

PLAGLA eyewear is created through a unique manufacturing process, combining special recycling technology from Japan with the reliable craftsmanship of factories in Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture, known as the "city of eyeglasses."

"So that making environmentally friendly choices can be effortless."

With this desire, we transformed plastic bottles, which are usually discarded in an instant, into long-lasting eyewear.

  • The frame is equivalent to about two PET bottles.

Approximately two 500ml plastic bottles are used to create one frame.

  • Using biodegradable lenses

We use biopolymer lenses that are broken down into water, carbon dioxide, and biomass by microorganisms during landfill disposal.

  • Accessories also use recycled materials

The case is made from recycled paper and the cleaning cloth from recycled PET bottles, meaning all materials used in the product are environmentally friendly.
