PLAGLA MAG Vol. 1

MAG vol1

---INTERVIEW---

Please introduce yourself!

I'm Yosuke Masaki. I'm the representative of the PLAGLA brand.

What inspired you to become aware of the environment?

It started with beach cleanups.
From the age of 20, I lived and worked at a surf shop in Izu for about three years. The shop was a 10-second walk from the beach, so I spent almost every day in the ocean. That's when I started doing beach cleanups with my surfing buddies and neighbors.

What sustainable practices do you personally implement?

It's common sense, but I don't litter, and if I see trash, I pick it up.
Not just on the beach, but in parks and other places too, I try my best not to overlook trash and pick it up.

What was your experience using PLAGLA glasses?

I felt that I didn't get tired even after prolonged use.
They're light and the frames are soft, so they don't hurt and don't slip. Glasses that are uncomfortable can be distracting when you're trying to concentrate or get engrossed in something. I don't feel that with PLAGLA so far, so I'm glad we put effort into making them.

Please tell us about the usage scenarios for PLAGLA glasses.

I use blue light cut glasses on weekdays and sunglasses on my days off. I use them for different purposes.
My night routine is to watch videos or movies before going to bed, and I feel like I fall asleep better when I use blue light cut glasses. I often use color lenses for sunglasses.
Since the lenses are light, you can see my eyes, so I don't think I look that suspicious even when wearing a mask. When driving, it's easy to keep them on even when entering a tunnel if they're color lenses.

Do you have any sustainable favorite items/daily necessities?

The tray from "bouy."
I met them at an exhibition and bought it. It comes in many colors and the colors are beautiful and lovely. The fact that it's made from plastic fragments collected from beaches all over Japan is also wonderful. I keep it on the shelf in my entryway and use it as a place to put small items like keys and earphones.

Are there any sustainable items you'd like to get?

I'm sorry, I can't think of any...
Ideally, it would be something I can use effortlessly in my daily life. Please let me know if you have any good items!

Please tell us about the websites and social media you check.

2minute beachclean
There's a charity site called The 2 Minute Foundation, and there's an organization that encourages people to spend just 2 minutes a day cleaning up beaches, oceans, parks, roads, empty lots, etc., around the world.
I often check their beach cleanup account, and the photos of the trash they pick up are unique and interesting. I can also get a feel for the atmosphere of beaches overseas, so seeing the trash collection scenes is fresh and enjoyable.

Please tell us about any activities you would like to try in the future.

I'd like to conduct interviews like this with various people myself. There are many people who are actively working towards environmental conservation, not just in the sea and mountains, but also in cities. I hope to hear about their thoughts and motivations and share them with everyone.

Please provide any information you have!

New PLAGLA models will be released soon, and we plan to actively participate in events for the summer.
We'll be updating information on our website and social media, so please look forward to it!
